Nursing Service in the Boer War

Nurse HEA LAWRENCE was recognised for her contribution to the care of the sick and wounded while serving with the South African Constabulary during the Boer War.[1][2][3]

The Queen's South Africa Medal Roll notes:
From KSA Medal Roll: Both these ladies did duty at the Civil Hospital, Kimberley, from February 1900 to May 1901. Nursing Officers, NCOs and men of this hospital were used by the military until a Military Hospital was established. These ladies served with the South African Constabulary from 25.5.01 until cessation of hostilities.[4]
