Nurse Sophia JEWELL trained at The London Hospital, London. Came to South Africa in 1899 as Ward Sister at the Kimberley Hospital
Nursing Service in the Boer War
Nurse Sophia JEWELL was a civilian nurse who cared for the British sick and wounded during the Boer War.[1][2]
After Military Service
After the war became Matron of the Royal South Western Hospital, Oudtshoorn, Cape Province, South Africa
