Nursing Service in World War Two

238130 Sister Jean Noel Maclaren, Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service, was killed at sea on 12 February 1944 when the SS Khedive Ismail was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine in the Indian Ocean.[1][2][3]

She is commemorated on the Brookwood Memorial, Panel 22, Column 2. She was the daughter of James Anderson Maclaren, K.C., and Margaret Yule Maclaren (née Young).[4]
