Nursing Training

Trained 1891-1893 and afterwards gained her midwifery certificate at the Women?s Hospital, Melbourne. In charge of a private hospital in New South Wales for several years before service in the Boer War.

Nursing Service in the Boer War

Sister Eva SAMUELS was sent by the Colony of South Australia to care for the sick and wounded during the Boer War.

Sailed on the Australasian on February 21, 1900.

After Military Service

Returned to South Africa and opened a large private hospital in Johannesburg and retained an interest in it for 21 years.
