Biography
Amy Bland HILL was born in Norton, Radnorshire in Wales in 1865. She was the daughter of the Vcar of Norton[1]. She trained at the New York Hospital in the USA[2]. She enlisted in the Princess Christian's Army Nursing Service (Reserve) on May 4th 1900<refname="WO399"/>.
Nursing Service in the Boer War (1899-1902)
In South Africa she served in a number of locations:
- No. 1 General Hospital Wynberg[3];
- No. 3 General Hospital, Kroonstad[4];
- Base Hospital Cape Town[5];
- Pretoria[6];
- Military Hospital Kroonstad[7].
