Biography

Florence ABRAHAM was born in Melbourne, Australia about 1871[1]. The 1891 census shows Florence as a probationer at St George’s Hospital. She joined Princess Christian’s Army Nursing Service (Reserve) on May 4, 1900[2].

Nursing Service in the Boer War (1899-1902)

Sister Florence ABRAHAM does not appear on the medal rolls for South Africa, but the 1901 census shows her working as a military nurse at the Devonport Military Hospital[3] .

After the Boer War

The 1911 Census shows Florence as a civilian nurse working at Nettleton House, Caistor, Lincolnshire[4], so it is unlikely she continued in a military career.

Sister Miss Florence ABRAHAM trained at St George's Hospital, London. The 1891 Census shows Florence as a probationer at St George's Hospital.

Nursing Service in the Boer War

Sister Miss Florence ABRAHAM served in Princess Christian's Army Nursing Service (Reserve), enlisting May 4, 1900. Her service number was 527.[5][6][7][8]

After Military Service

The 1911 Census shows Florence as a civilian nurse working at Nettleton House, Caistor, Lincs
