Biography

Charlotte BERRIE was born in Gympie, Queensland, Australia in 1887.

Nursing Service before WW1

Staff Nurse BERRIE is recorded as Staff Nurse (Millbank) in the Census 1911.[1]

Nursing Service in WW1

Her War Office record (WO399/587) show that she had a number of postings on Hospital Ships including the HS Arundel Castle and the HS Dunluce Castle.

From September 1917 she served in Egypt at Alexandria and Cairo. She was appointed Acting Sister in October 1917.

In January 1919 she went on local leave to Jerusalem. Whilst there she was admitted to the American Red Cross Hospital and died of pneumonia on the 8th January 1919[2]
