Biography

Miss Evelyn ALDER was born in Honition, Devon about 1869[1] [2]. She trained at the Royal Infirmary, Bristol[3].

Nursing Service during the Boer War

Sister ALDER served in the Princess Christian’s Army Nursing Service (Reserve)[3], joining on March 23, 1900, although we have not seen her in any of the medal rolls. The 1911 census shows her working as a private nurse in Lymington[2].
