Gertrude Mary Allen appears as a Staff Nurse in the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service (QAIMNS) on the Army List for 1906[1], and then as a Sister until 1913 [2] [3] [4]. In the 1911 Census she is serving at Tempe (Bloemfontein), South Africa[5].
