Biography

Margaret Butler Alexander trained at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow1. She joined the Princess Christian’s Army Nursing Service (Reserve) on March 23rd, 19001.

Nursing Service in the Boer War

She served at the Imperial Yeomanry Hospital2 and with the Scottish National Red Cross Hospital3. She was noted as ‘on duty’ on the Trojan returning to England with sick and wounded, leaving South Africa on September 24th 19004.
