One of the tasks for both family and military historians is making sense of photographs and pictures. There are a number of identifying features that helps us to work out the era and service of a British Army nurse. The main things to look at are:
- Tippets and tippet medals;
In the following pages we will be showing you a number of photographs and videos, and demonstrating the difference in these identifying factors. If you have a tricky photograph you want help with then feel free to send it to us via the Contact section on the Home page. We will also look at memorials and artwork to see what they can offer to researching British Army nurses. Again, if you are aware of memorials or artwork near you we would be very pleased if you would share details with us.
